This week we learned about scarecrows. We discovered that scarecrows help keep the seeds, fruit and crops safe from birds and other animals. We used our creativity, fine motor skills and followed directions to create our own scarecrows.

The past month we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month. We learned a different Spanish phrase each day and as a class created a flag that represents a different Hispanic Country.


We have all witnessed the horrific events in the Middle East. The Nassau County Police Department has been actively monitoring social media for any local threats. They are aware of online posts , NONE of which involve Nassau County, We thank the police department for keeping us informed. Dr. Pedersen

Today we had a special visit from the Inwood Fire Department for our Fire Safety Day! We learned the ABC's of fire safety, saw fire fighters and their equipment, fire trucks, ambulances and even held a real fire hose! Ask your child about their fire safety day!





We support one another as we hear of the devastating attacks on Israel.


In Pre-K this week we are immersed into the theme of apples! We learned about where they grow, what colors they can be and even tasted them! We painted with apple slices and pretended to pick apples in our orchard. Ask your child what they learned about apples!

This is a great time to learn about our curriculum, upcoming events, and daily routine.


We have been learning about circles, squares, triangles and rectangles. When you put these shapes together you can create many different things!Children in Room 1 are using various shapes to create their own pizza.


Pre-K students in Room 4 created American flags for Patriot Day


This morning we participated in a memorial ceremony dedicated to all the lives lost on September 11th, 2001. We also remember and honor the bravery of our community helpers who helped and offered assistance to all those in need on that day.


We had a wonderful first day of Pre-K today! Lots of smiling faces and fun had by all!
