LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (NOVEMBER 2025)—Lawrence Primary School celebrated World Kindness Day with a full day of activities dedicated to teaching students the power of compassion, empathy, and small acts of kindness. This annual celebration serves as a meaningful reminder that even the smallest gestures can make a tremendous difference in someone’s life.

This year, special activities took place throughout the entire school, engaging students and staff in lessons and experiences designed to foster a positive, caring community. A major highlight of the day came from the school’s amazing second grade teaching team, who collaborated to create a memorable, heart-warming afternoon for their students. The second graders rotated through stations that featured a variety of kindness-inspired activities, including:

        A Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lesson

Read-alouds and independent reading of kindness-themed books

        Coloring and crafts

Activity sheets focused on empathy and caring for others

A special service project creating handmade blankets to be donated to Cohen’s Children’s Hospital

Students worked thoughtfully and enthusiastically, knowing their efforts would bring comfort to children in need. The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was filled with laughter, teamwork, and genuine acts of kindness.

“World Kindness Day gives us the opportunity to model and teach values that make our school and our world a better place,” said Dr. Kristen Panzarella, Principal of Lawrence Primary School. “Watching our students show empathy, engage in meaningful activities, and create something special for others was truly inspiring.”

Lawrence Primary School remains committed to nurturing students’ academic growth while also fostering strong character, compassion, and community involvement.
