Today we went on a hunt for letter x and found the rest of the alphabet along the way for our Peaceful Letter Day. Children had a great time solving riddles and finding the letters throughout the school. Once they found letter X they used craft sticks and letter building blocks to create different letters.

On Friday we celebrated our diversity for our Multicultural Day. Families came for our Pre-K parade where children dressed in traditional clothing that best represented their country. They shared information and artifacts from their cultures. We learned a lot from one another and are happy to be a part of a cultural mosaic in Lawrence.

Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He was a prominent leader in the American civil rights movement, known for his advocacy of nonviolent resistance and his powerful speeches, including the iconic "I Have a Dream." He fought for racial equality, justice, and the end of segregation in the United States. His work and legacy continue to inspire movements for social justice and equality around the world.

Hello families! Join us on Friday, January 17th at 1:00 pm for our Pre-K Multicultural Day parade. This is our wonderful way to celebrate diversity and teach young children about different cultures from around the world.
Encourage your child to wear traditional clothing/colors from your culture.
Bring in an artifact, flag or banner to talk and share with the class.
We will incorporate music and dance from various cultures in our day.
The goal of our day is to create an inclusive atmosphere where children feel excited and valued to learn/experience the world around them!

School will be closed from December 23-January 1st. We will return on Thursday, January 2nd. We wish all of our children and families a happy and healthy Holiday and New Year.

Today our Pre-K children lit up the stage with their beautiful singing and performances. They were enthusiastic and performed wonderfully for their families. After the concert, families went to their child's classroom and participated in a winter themed craft.

Pre-K children are currently in their unit of Light study. As we study light, children will develop language and literacy skills as they name and describe different types of light, math
skills as they count light bulbs, and a growing sense of independence as they turn on and off lights they use every day.

Good morning Lawrence! Our students have demonstrated their academic achievements in their recent report cards. The attached newsletter shows an example of their social awareness achievement through an act of kindness. Wishing you the best for the holiday season. -Dr. Pedersen https://secure.smore.com/n/20sykd

Today we had a wonderful celebration of our Pre-K families during our Turkey Trot and family celebration. Wishing everyone a happy and joyous Thanksgiving with family and friends. Enjoy this special time together. We will see you all when we return on Monday, December 2nd.

Today we learned some martial arts with Master Dan. Master Dan owns a local martial arts studio and also wrote a children's book about a little mouse that takes martial arts. The children enjoyed hearing his story and then getting some exercise while participating in Budo the Mouse brain breaks. You can find Budo the Mouse movement activities on youtube!

On November 13th, we celebrated World Kindness Day. We talked about ways we can be kind to others such as holding the door open for someone, smiling and helping clean up. We took the Kindness Pledge and signed it with our handprint.

Congratulations to Lawrence Soccer and Coach Lagasse.

Today we received a special visit from the Inwood Fire Department! Children learned about the equipment and tools that firefighters use to help keep us safe. We also learned about what to do in case there is ever a fire. Children held some of the equipment and walked through the truck. Ask your child about what they learned today!

Yesterday we remembered the events that unfolded on September 11th, 2001. We focused on the community helpers and all the brave people who helped during a tough time. These helpers are heroes who work to keep us safe such as firefighters, doctors, police officers, and nurses.

Hello Lawrence Families! We are off to a smooth start and look forward to a great year ahead. Please use this link to review important school safety information. https://secure.smore.com/n/r27s5
