There is NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Thursday, September 16th in observance of Yom Kippur. Wishing all of those who celebrate a peaceful and meaningful Yom Kippur.

Each year from September 15th to October 15th, we as a country celebrate National Hispanic Heritage During this month. Lawrence Early Childhood Center takes time to celebrate the history, cultures, language, and contributions of Hispanic individuals to our country. This is also an opportunity for us as a school district to affirm and demonstrate our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity for all of our students, staff, and community as we are a cultural mosaic here in Lawrence.

Today on the front lawn we were joined by Superintendent Dr. Pedersen & our Pre-K and Kindergarten staff & classes, as Mr. Anthony raised the flag to half-staff to honor those who were impacted or have made the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you to Mr. Stabile for the playing of taps throughout the ceremony! All learners will go home with their own American Flag today! Tomorrow, September 11th, is Patriot Day which is observed to honor the memory of the nearly 3,000 innocent victims. Lawrence Early Childhood Center will observe Patriot Day by having a Flag Ceremony tomorrow with our Superintendent Dr. Pedersen, ECC Staff, and ECC Learners. We ask that our staff and learners wear Red, White &/or Blue tomorrow. We continue to assure our little learners of their safety with us in our building and we continue to help our learners identify ways they can help others and always be kind. Kindness Always Wins. . . Mañana, 11 de septiembre, es el Día de los Patriotas, que se conmemora para honrar la memoria de las casi 3.000 víctimas inocentes. Lawrence observará el Día de los Patriotas teniendo una Ceremonia de Bandera mañana con nuestro Superintendente, Personal y Estudiantes de ECC. Pedimos que nuestro personal y alumnos vistan de rojo, blanco y / o azul mañana. We are so excited to welcome back our learners for the 2021-2022 School Year tomorrow, Thursday, September 2nd! Our school day schedule is 8:50AM-3:30PM. If your child is taking the bus to school, please ensure they bring their bus pass with them to school. If your child is a walker, please bring them to the Main Entrance at 8:50AM. Upon arrival, all students' temperature will be checked before entering the building. Parents will not be permitted in the building on the first day of school. Please send your child into school with their Dismissal Form which was in the Welcome Packet to ensure we have this on file. If your child is a walker for the day or every day, please send in a note each day that says your child will be a walker. If you have any questions or need to notify the school about a change in dismissal, please call the Main Office before 1:00PM at 516-295-6402/7555. We are looking forward to a fantastic First Day of Kindergarten!

As mentioned in our Kindergarten Orientation, we are happy to host "Come See Your Classroom" Tours tomorrow, Wednesday, September 1st from 3-5PM (schedule below)! Each Kindergarten learner and ONLY ONE parent/guardian are welcome to the Early Childhood Center to tour the building and see their classroom with an ECC staff member! In order to ensure the safety of our staff and families, families MUST adhere to the schedule below. Lawrence, The first day of school for students is September 2nd. There have been no department of health updates sent to schools, however today the state education department announced guidance will be coming to address questions around the wearing of masks, social distancing, remote learning, and transportation.
