LES receives Honorable Mention School of Character for the work done with learners and families on Social Emotional Learning. Rina Beach and Lisa Amabile present the program to the grant sponsor. Schools from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania participated.

Mrs. O’Connor and Mrs. Cohen’s class wrote essays to persuade the principal. They did an amazing job at writing an interesting, well organized, and thoughtful essay. They did not persuade me to eliminate homework completely but I will certainly give it some thought. They presented in a strong voice with a level of maturity gained over this last school year. Many thanks to their teachers for the fine work they do every day.

LES held two amazing concerts. On June 11, our fourth grade learners and their families enjoyed an amazing concert showcasing their musical talents. On June 13, our third graders wowed us with their poise. From Baby Shark to Do Re Me, the audience was delighted.

Congratulations and good luck to our beloved orchestra teacher Mrs. Elias who is retiring. We are so grateful for her service to thousands of Lawrence children during her 30 years as a master teacher.
