Since our last update, the Lawrence Music Department has had several exciting accomplishments and events occur within the department.

*Our Broadway Showcase students, Director Mr. Riley, had their auditions, and our live stream performance is scheduled for May 27th at 7 pm. The cast list has been posted! Watch for more information about our amazing performers!

*Jordana Sidlow has performed on multiple percussion instruments for her college music auditions and is waiting to hear from the various schools to make her decision. 

*Corrinthea Washington has completed her Musical Theatre auditions and we look forward to hearing which school she has decided to attend.

*The Middle School Principals' Honor Roll Breakfast will feature the premier of our MS student composers. The music compositions will be performed as our 8th grade students read a poem by Amanda Gorman. *HS Music Department students participated in a webinar with Broadway actor, Danny Quadrino. Mr. Quadrino has performed in many Broadway shows including Bye Bye Birdie, Peter Pan(live), Newsies,  & Wicked and shared his experience and love of theatre & performing arts with our students. Thank you to Mr. Ballantyne for connecting us and Mr. Riley for hosting.

Upcoming Events:

*A Mental Health Forum sponsored by the Tri-M Honor Society for HS Music department members will take place on April 15th. The first part of the forum will include a guest speaker, an opera singer from AZ who is going to give students coping mechanisms to use before and while performing.  The second part of the forum will be for students to share their experiences.
