LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (MARCH 2026)—The atmosphere at Lawrence Primary School was electric as students were treated to a high-energy visit from Sam’s Weather School. The interactive assembly brought the wonders of meteorology to life, transforming the school auditorium into a literal laboratory of clouds, winds, and wonder.

The program was led by Sam Augeri, a seasoned meteorologist with more than 20 years of experience in broadcast weather. Most recently a familiar face on News 12, Augeri brought her trademark enthusiasm and professional expertise from the small screen directly to Lawrence students, making the complex world of weather both accessible and exciting.

Through engaging demonstrations and hands-on learning moments, students explored how clouds form, how wind moves through the atmosphere, and how meteorologists study changing weather patterns. The lively presentation encouraged curiosity and invited students to think like scientists as they observed the natural forces that shape our environment.

“The visit is part of Lawrence Primary School’s ongoing commitment to hands-on STEM education,” said Dr. Kristen Panzarella, Lawrence Primary School Principal. “Programs like Sam’s Weather School help students connect classroom lessons with real-world science while building the foundational knowledge needed to understand Earth’s complex climate systems.”

As the assembly concluded, students returned to their classrooms with a new vocabulary and a deeper appreciation for the work of meteorologists. By building these “bricks” of scientific literacy, Lawrence Primary School continues to prepare its students for a future where they can navigate any “weather” that comes their way.
