The Kindergarten Early Childhood Center held its first Parent Tech Talk of the year! Throughout the presentation, parents/guardians were shown how to access Gmail, iRead Program & our Suite 360 SEL Program. Parents were shown how to access all frequently used website links by using the 'Lawrence Bookmarks' tab on each child's Chromebook. Parents were shown how to access the Google Classroom platform app from the "waffle" and/or the icon, along with how to accept invitations to join Google Classroom.
In addition, an overview was provided as to how to recognize the different types of assignments posted: Google Docs, Slides, PDF, Videos, or Materials. Parents were provided an overview how to submit using each Google App. Families were shown how to access a PDF assignments, utilize Kami to annotate and how to submit that assignment to the teacher. Families were shown how to review student's work and check that they are up to date with their work as well.
Families were shown how to download the Google Classroom app for easy accessibility to submit a photo of their child's work. Finally, parents were shown how to download the Lawrence District 15 App and how to set notifications! This app will keep you informed of all things Lawrence.
