Friday will be the last day to make any changes to your schedule.  Please see your counselor as soon as possible for any further adjustments.

Just a reminder that ALL students must have their IDs every day and must be wearing them so they are visible to all school staff members.

Beginning on Monday, students who do not have an ID when they arrive, or a student who’s ID is not visible throughout the day will be assigned a detention. So please consider this your warning. 

If you have not yet received an ID or lost your ID, this is the last week to get a replacement ID for free. Beginning on Monday, all replacement IDs will be $5.

 

Broadway Showcase – Advisor – Mr. Riley and Ms. Staller

This February, the Theater department will bring Shrek’s swamp to Lawrence. Come be part of the fun as we bringS, Fiona, Donkey, Lord Farguaad and all their fairytale creature friends to life! An informational meeting will be held on Thursday, September 26th. All who are interested must attend and remember Ogres are like onions!

 

College Financial Planning Night Even

Attention Seniors!  Please join us on Monday, September 23rd, at 6:30 pm for Financial Aid Planning for college.  We have financial Aid Officers from local institutions presenting on the financial aid process. The speakers will also answer questions regarding financial aid. Parents of seniors are also welcome to attend.  Do not miss this informative event.

 

College Fair

There will be a College Fair Sunday, October 20th, 2019, at 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Jacob Javits Center; There will be over 200 Colleges and Universities from around the Country.  Entry is free.  No registration is required.  WWW.Bigapplecollegefair.com

 

Debate Club – Advisor – Mr. Calvo

Debate Club will meet in room 324 Thursday, afterschool.  Bring a friend to room 324 right after school on Thursday.

 

All English Classes – Ms. Stanley

Attention all students:  All Students must submit their independent summer reading assignment by Tuesday, September 24th.  If you need help or need a book please see your English teacher, Librarian or Ms. Stanley.

 

Key Club – Advisor – Mr. Mayo

Anyone interested in doing some community service during school events or during out-of-school events such as the Blood Drive or the Inwood 5K Run, join Key Club.  Meetings are every Thursday at 2:45 pm, in room 125F.  Should you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact Mr. Mayo.

 

Multi-cultural Club – Advisor – Ms. Kind

Attention all students! Looking to make new friends? Want to get involved but not sure how? Well, join the Multi-cultural Club.  Meetings are held 2 Wednesday’s a month easy-pea-zee!!

Meetings will start Wednesday, September 25th @ 2:45 pm in room 125E in Ms. Kind’s room.  Join us for fun, food and friends!

 

Rise-Up-Advisor – Ms. Kind

All students who participated in the RISE-UP Program this summer, your folders are available. Come and get your work in room 125E before summer reading is due September 24th.  Room 125E is in the back of the High School near the Art Suite. See you soon!

 

Rise Up – Advisor- Mr. Cohen

Attention all Seniors and Juniors,  Mr. Cohen is looking for anyone interested in helping to mentor a 9th grade student for the 2019 – 2020 school year.  An informational meeting will take place this Thursday after school in room 302.  All who may want to be part of this new club should attend or see Mr. Cohen.

 

Sophomore and Junior Student Officers

Good morning Lawrence High School. This announcement is for the Sophomore and Junior officers.  Next Thursday, September 26th, there will be an initial meeting.  We will meet in room 125E directly after school.  Come with great ideas and happy energy. See you next Thursday!

 

Stage Crew – Advisor – Mr. Verone

There will be a Stage Crew/Art Club meeting today. All must attend!

 

Tennis Team – Advisor – Mr. Walker

The tennis team improved their record to 2 wins and 1 lose with a dominate 5-2 victory over North Valley Stream.

2nd Singles Mia Feder and 3rd Singles Autumn Taylor won key victories in their matches

1st Doubles Genesis Contreas and Kimberly Ramirez also won their match in two sets

4th Doubles Kely and Andre pulled through in three sets – an amazing comeback to seal the win

Varsity Wrestling – Advisors – Coach McDermott and Coach Jorge
