Principal's Message

On behalf of the Number Two School community, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your children. I am excited to be your principal and share in another year of fun and learning in a school where teachers are skilled, devoted, instructional leaders who promote student achievement and academic excellence.

Number Two School is one of three elementary schools in the Lawrence Public School District, educating approximately 380 students in the first through fifth grades. Our learning community is committed to providing challenging and rich educational experiences that ensure success. With high expectations and standards for quality for all students, we strive to create a student-centered learning environment, where learning is an active, continuous, dynamic process.

Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, Parents as Reading Partners (PARP), Character Day, International Week, Resolving Conflict Creatively Program (RCCP), Peace Begins With Me Day, music, and art are some of the annual traditions and special programs in which our students are involved. We take pride in our diverse learning environment and strive to meet the needs of all children in a variety of ways.

It is my vision to continue to have a school where meaningful, educational experiences are combined with children’s natural excitement for learning, and where faculty and parents collaborate to provide a positive and productive school experience for each and every child. In addition, our devoted parents from PTA work extremely hard throughout the year and need your help to plan and supervise enriching programs and activities for our students.

I look forward to serving as the principal of Number Two School and aim to continue our strong partnership with you, the parents, as we embark upon the new school year.

Sincerely,

Cindy S. Lee
Principal
