Third Grade
Room 201...In January, Mrs. Laibach's class received a special visitor. Max, the bunny, will be spending the remainder of the school year with us. The students are learning how to take care of him. They feed him, give him water and change/clean his cage. Everyone is so excited!
Room 201 has been studying about the continents and geography in Social Studies. In Science, they are learning about different forms of energy. In Math, they7 just finished learning multiplication and now are learning division. In reading, the children continue to learn various skills as they work through the new Scott Foresman Literature series.
Fourth Grade
The fourth grade is learning about Native American culture. The fourth graders visited Hoyt Farm and participated in many Native American projects. They learned how to make a shelter, prepare native American foods, and design necklaces. They learned about the Native American way of life.
STATE TESTS:
Throughout the upcoming months we will be sending home reminders about early extra help for the New York State Math and Science exams.

Fifth Grade
Room 203 just finished our Social Studies unit on the explorers Lewis and Clark. We made a flipbook on their journey to the Pacific Ocean. We included the dangers they faced, the traveling requirements and the people they took with them on their expedition.

We are currently reading Welcome Home, Jellybean by Marlene Fanta Shyer. The children are realizing how certain words have different meaning to different people. They will no longer use the word retarded when trying to hurt someone's feelings. They look forward to reading this book everyday.
