If you are planning to go to
college and you are interested in community service for college
application, the art club is the right place for you. Students
get to work with clay, collage and other mediums. The
Ceramics & Sculpture program uses multiple concepts of hand
building such as pinch, coil, slab, vessels and free form
sculptures that represent the ancient Greek history. The
Advanced Ceramics and Sculpture program allows students
to continue their personal exploration in the clay medium.
Students also coordinated and constructed a ceramic
countertop for the ceramic studio, and will be used for
research while students brainstorm concepts for current and
future projects. The Senior Sculpture Seminar is a program
designed to challenge students while taking a
college-level credit course during their last year of high
school. Its goal is to nurture and focus on each individual's
artistic talent. Lawrence High School is the only school
on Long Island that offers this opportunity to our
students. "I have always focused on community outreach in the arts with my high school students, whether is in class or art club. I will continue working on the alumni garden and other related projects for exhibition in our school and community." Mr . Verone |
