About the Foundation

Founded in 1996, the Lawrence Educational Foundation is dedicated to funding special programs and projects to support the students and staff of the Lawrence Public Schools in southwest Nassau County, Long Island.

Fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools as a Pre-K to 12 school system, Lawrence Public Schools has been on the forefront of many educational initiatives. Such programs include:

  • Science research  mentoring programs in the natural and social sciences resulting in several Intel finalists and semifinalists awards in recent years
  • Conflict resolution training led by the Resolving Conflicts Creatively Program (RCCP)
  • The Lawrence Philharmonic, an intergerational orchestra honored by the Bernstein Education Through the Arts (BETA) Fund
  • A large selection of advanced placement courses for high school students, of which several dozen earn AP Scholar awards annually
  • An extensive Continuing Education program, promoting lifelong learning with over 200 courses offered every semester
  • Through the Foundation’s efforts, we will provide even more programs and services to better prepare our students of every age for the challenges that await them in the future. Together with your assistance and support, we can make miracles happen everyday...one child at a time.
